Festival of Scientific Research

From September 26 to 28, 2025, Trieste becomes a hub of curiosity and innovation with Trieste Next, the 14th edition of the Festival of Scientific Research. If you’re curious about how the world works this is the place for you: conferences, talks, workshops, and over 100 events  featuring 300 speakers  ready to share discoveries and ideas.

The theme for 2025? “Life Within. Conversations across Sciences and Technologies.” In simple terms: exploring how science and technology are shaping our lives, from the tiniest cells to the biggest social and energy challenges.

Trieste is the city of science, hosting 2 universities, over 30 research institutes,  a science and technology park, and one of the highest concentrations of researchers in Europe.

During the three days of the festival, the city center comes alive with events at multiple venues, workshops, exhibitions in Piazza Unità d’Italia, and activities designed for schools. Can’t be there in person? No worries, everything is also available via live streaming.

This year, there are some exciting new additions, including talks in English  with international partners, because science knows no borders.

Trieste Next is much more than a festival: it’s an opportunity to explore, engage, and be inspired.
