Contemporary Art at Miramare Castle

From December 6, 2024, to November 9, 2025, the Miramare Castle in Trieste hosts Naturae, a contemporary art exhibition, exploring the deep connection between humans and nature.

Over 50 works by eighteen international artists – including Marina Abramović, Mimmo Paladino, Jan Fabre, Liu Bolin e Rebecca Horn – interact with castle’s interior spaces of the castle and its seaside park. Sculptures, installations, drawings, photographs and videos create an immersive journey that ranges landscapes, the beauty of natural forms, and reflections on our role in the world.

The journey winds through the stables, historic halls and outdoor spaces, where nature becomes art and art blends with the natural environment.

Getting to Miramare Castle from Hotello Trieste

The castle is about 9 km from Hotello Trieste. Here are the main ways to reach it:

By car
From Trieste city center, take Viale Miramare and follow the directions for Miramare. After the “end of town” sign, turn left at the fork toward Miramare.
By train
From Trieste Centrale Station take a regional train to Miramare station (just one stop away). Walk 150 m along Via Beirut to the park entrance, then enjoy a 500 m stroll along the paths to the castle.
By bus
Take lines 6 or 36 toward Miramare/Grignano, get off at Bivio di Miramare, walk 750 m to the park entrance, then another 500 m to the castle.
